I am Natasha and this website is a continuation of my older blog. I’ll provide commentary from a radical libertarian or anarchist perspective. More specifically, I’ll be writing about issues from a dialectical or contextual standpoint. Topics to be written about will range the gamut from the warfare state to the importance of cultural tolerance.
In the interests of clarity, I’d like to give an explanation of the terms used in my tag line. It’ll provide a clearer idea of what my general perspective is for those who have questions.
Philosophical anarchism: The meaning of anarchism and anarchy suffers no shortage of debate among self-identified proponents so some are likely to disagree with me in my own conception. That said, what follows is my best attempt to provide a coherent explanation.
In a nutshell, the philosophy of anarchism is a rejection of coercion — aggressive or initiatory coercion is entirely incompatible with anarchism, but retaliatory force can be acceptable, although not the ideal way of solving disputes or conflict — as a beneficial way of dealing with each other.
Free Market Economics: Oftentimes, the terms “free market” or “free market economics” are bandied about by individuals seeking to describe the status quo or something closely approximating it. This usage is incredibly destructive of the genuinely wonderful meaning behind this language. Our present allegedly “free market” system is more accurately described as fascism or the corporate state where private economic power is intertwined with government. One glance at the nature of Halliburton is enough to drive this critical point home.
Genuinely free markets involve the absence of both state subsidy and regulation — indeed, the entire lack of the state itself, so anarchism and the authentic market economy are two connected parts of a wider totality — so the present order is far removed from what I’d like to see.
