You are cordially invited to the Carnival of Anarchy on violence and anarchism. It’ll hopefully be all the rage from April 27th to April 29th.
Be sure to drop by! Yours truly will be hosting but it’s a very cooperative venture and I am eager to see what I can learn from my fellow contributors.
(Just the usual minor revisions and corrections)
This week’s digest features much more extensive listing of links than the previous two. A huge clearing out of old email with a cataloging of intriguing material from some for my favorites folder happened today. I happily offer the fruits of that effort for your viewing pleasure!
Odd Science Finds
Freak Chickens Lay Eggs Loaded with Drugs
Sex-Changing Chemicals Found in Potomac River
Deconstructing Drug War Propaganda
I’d recommend Jacob Sullum’s article “The Surprising Truth About Heroin and Addiction” for more information along similar lines.

Getting the State Out of Our Heads
Enjoy! And look for more writing this week — apologizes for not having released the posts I mentioned in the last digest, but I’ve been suffering very topsy turvey emotions right now — since I do have posts in the works.
Did manage to get the introduction to the first part of the book posted here.
(Just archiving a few digests from the Yahoo group that hadn’t been posted yet. I’ve made some revisions.)
Just a short listing of some of the links I meant to send out before leaving for Utah this last Thursday. I am saving a few for this Sunday’s digest.

I am not making this up. A company called Jimmyjane, based right here in S.F., makes a thin, cigar-shaped platinum vibrator that clocks in at a whopping $470 (also comes in gold and steel), custom engraved and silent and waterproof to 15 feet down because oh my God if there’s one thing this world needs, it’s more vibe-wielding women who dive into the deep end of the pool and emerge 10 minutes later with a huge grin and a soft glow and a craving for chocolate ice cream and a shot of dark rum.
I simply adore Mark Morford!
TEHRAN, Iran -
Iran appears to be digging in for a prolonged standoff over its capture of 15 British sailors and marines, demonstrating the power of hardliners willing to confront the West, analysts say.
These are interesting times we live in. Who knows how long this standoff will last? It hopefully won’t last very long since war could easily spark in a situation like this.
I’m trying a more formal digest structure for the time being but all it amounts to is really some consistently appearing categories each Sunday. I’ll stick to it unless I simply can’t find any material for the topic in question but that’s not something I expect to happen. I do plan to keep up a variation on the category titles since I just love coming up with cool ones.
